Under state law K.S.A 44-636 public entities are defined as cities, counties, school districts and state agencies. As a public employer you are subject to safety and health evaluations which are conducted every 3-5 years. As a public sector employer, you are also required to report all workplace fatalities to the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) by contacting our office via phone at (785) 296-4386 or via email to KDOL.IndSafetyHealth@ks.gov.

Staff from KDOL can provide a FREE Safety Evaluation for public employers. Using this no-cost evaluation service, you will get help to identify and address potential hazards in the workplace and establish safety and health programs. Evaluations include a review of OSHA 300 logs. Our goal is to help you develop a safe work environment.

To apply for a free safety evaluation, fill out the form below and send via email to KDOL.IndSafetyHealth@ks.gov.
